Foster family
Care for an animal in your home for days, weeks, or months. NHS provides supplies and vet care.
Thrift Store crew
Sort donations, build displays, run the till. The most social shift in town.
Transport driver
Drive animals to vet appointments, partner shelters, or new homes. Mileage-friendly routes.
Event volunteer
Help us run adoption fairs, fundraisers, and 60th Anniversary campaign events.

Open your home for a few weeks.
Fostering is one of the most direct ways to save a life. Newborn kittens who need round-the-clock care, dogs decompressing from a rough start, seniors finishing their last chapter in comfort — every animal we foster is one more we can save.

- Most foster placements run 2 to 8 weeks.
- Foster-to-adopt is welcomed for the right match.
