The NHS Thrift Store has been a Cobourg staple for years. It’s where the community drops off treasures they no longer need — and where every dollar spent goes back into caring for animals across Northumberland.
Thrift Store revenue covers a meaningful share of NHS’s annual operating budget — the kibble, the surgeries, the heat in winter, the toys and beds and litter that fill the shelter every day.
We aim to keep as much as possible out of landfill — but we can only sell items that are safe, clean, and complete. Here’s our current guide.
Unsure about a specific item? Call ahead at (905) 555-0123.
Thrift Store volunteers run sorting tables, build window displays, price stock, and staff the till. It’s some of the most fun volunteering NHS offers, and one of the easiest schedules to fit around real life.
